Stories of a global nomad

WHY THIS BLOG?

Ever since I can remember I’ve always loved sharing stories with friends and loved ones. When I was in boarding school I would share stories of my time in Africa and Asia with the girls in my dormitory. When my children were young, one of our favorite times of the day was story time before going to bed. Every night I gave them the option of either having a story read to them from a book or a story told from my past. They would always choose the latter.

My wish is to invoke the same feelings in my readers that I have in my friends, loved ones and children.

I am a 5th generation global nomad, bringing up the 6th generation. To say movement is in my family’s DNA is a slight understatement. In this space I will attempt to convey the joys as well as the trials and tribulations of this type of lifestyle, by writing short stories or more like ‘snippets in time’ from both my childhood and adult travels.

My ultimate goal is to collect my stories into some sort of memoir or children’s book. I’m not sure which for now, time will tell.
