TALKS
NOVEMBER 2024
Nearly Home
“Home is where the heart is” was very much the theme on “Nearly Home” exhibition in Mirasierra, Madrid, where I gave a talk on Home and what that means to me, as well as sharing a couple of excerpts from my upcoming memoir Wandering Identity – Beneath a Borrowed Sky.
“I felt very called to come to the event because it’s something I haven’t thought of so much (all the TCK thing), and yet it is so key to what we are. And understanding ourselves where home is for each of us. I was very inspired by it all. I also felt there were many parallels between my life and Sam’s. Indeed. El mundo es un panuelo.” Rosemary Matthews. A fellow TCK living in Madrid.
“Sam, you were great. I loved the natural way you presented your talk. As if you had been giving speeches all your life. So well organised, making the audience take part. Brava. Loved listening toyour reading too. The book will be a success too.” Raquel Barnatan. Argentinian artist living in Madrid.

Podcast “Reinventions in between” guest appearance
Your go to podcast for real stories of reinvention that happen between life stages, career changes and living abroad. In this episode, I talk about being a third-generation global nomad who has raised four fourth-generation TCKs.
Growing Up Across Borders
I had the honor of presenting to students, parents, and teachers alike at the International School of Modena during their Book Week. I spoke about my upcoming book, Beneath A Borrowed Sky, and its main themes: growing up across borders, Third Culture Kids, and being a global nomad.
Here We Are Italy
here.we.are.italy also invited me to speak to some international parents in Modena at the beautiful Roots space the same week.
